Hi, i'm stressing with mass elements modeled to reproduce old stone walls that are quite irregular. After all that job, i'm facing that's impossible to make demolishing and phases work with those elements:
- they don't accept to be cutted with a void that is in new construction (i always get the warning "void doesn't cut anything")
- same warning appears if i try to make the void in exisitng phase and turn it to new
- i manage to cut them with a in-place solid (which turns work very crowded), but the cutted portion disappear and doesn't turn yellow as suposed.
Any help would be great.
I'm thankful, but i can't, there's info not mine, but walls, floors, doors, ceilings, are all responding correctly, so this is a problem with this specific elements, that seems not computing cutted parts.
Group together just the problem elements and save that Group out of the Project to another RVT. You can post that RVT file here. If you can't do that, I can't help.
Good luck.
Hi, here's an example, this was the only way i manage to cut mass, with another solid, but the mass cutted part near the new walls just disappear, when it should turn yellow like the wall bellow, when phase filters are applied (Level 1 phases).
And another issue arises: showing only existing phase, mass should be shown entire, but is shown cutted. So that's why i'm forced to conclude Revit has no tool to model irregular walls correctly, because is a insanity triying split mass in parts just to turn the correct parts yellow (with no further ajustments possible, because some of them were made with splines). I tried make walls by face, but there are some areas where this is impossible, due to the fact this can only be done with at least 2 joined walls, one interior, another exterior, but in the side ends it wrecks all.
