Trouble linking cad topo file

Hello,

We are having trouble linking a new topo file, which should replace two existing topo files. The file is disappearing and not selectable. I am selecting automatic scale detect since selecting "feet" does not insert the topo to the correct scale, inserts way to big. Also, the link cad dialog box for some reason is not allowing us to uncheck "Current view only".

It's too far away. Do a Crossing Window selection in that Zoom to Fit View to select the Import (limit selected elements with Filter if you have too) and then drag it closer to the Internal Origin.  

...are you sure it isn't above the View (e.g. out of View Range)?

Just tried your RVT and DWG. DWG Link is visible if you change your View Range Settings as I mentioned above.  

NOTE: DWG Linked Center to Center in above screenshot.

Thank you, that worked to make the topo visible.

However, how do we correctly scale the link? In AutoCAD we had to scale the topo xref by 1/12, but we have not had to do that typically when inserting a topo into Revit. 

We tried scaling after inserting by "=1/12" but the topo is still way too large.

Do not just activate a view on sheet, open a site plan view and link the DWG in.  This alone should eliminate most, if not all, the troubles you described.

I used auto-detect. Worked like a charm.  

BTW: the DWG comes in at an Elevation of roughly 1100 ft.

Just double-checked. Auto-detect units seem to bring it in at the correct scale.
