Trouble installing Revit 2016

I am trying to download a free trail of Revit 2016, I used to have revit 2013 on my computer and it ran fine. When i try to download the free trail of 2016 it says my operating system is not supported, check system requirements. The requirements say it can run on Windows 7 Professional, which is what I have, so I cant figure out why it is saying my operating system is not supported. Help!

As you can see on the attached screenshot, I tried to download the trail of building design suite, autocad 2016 and everything else seemed to be able to install fine, however revit cannot, anybody know why this might be happening or what it is exactly that revit needs to install that the others do not?

There are two potential causes for this message.  The first would be if you are attempting to install Revit 2016 on a 32-bit version of Windows 7.  The second is if you are attempting to install Revit 2016 on a 64-bit version of Windows 7 that does not have service pack 1 installed.

This page in the Autodesk Knowledge Network lists the specific system requirements for Revit 2016.  In your other post on this subject, you indicate that your are running a 64-bit operating system.  Is that one of the listed operating systems? (Microsoft® Windows® 7 SP1 64-bit:  Windows 7 Enterprise, Ultimate, Professional, or Home Premium; Microsoft® Windows® 8 64-bit:  Windows 8 Enterprise, Pro, or Windows 8; Microsoft® Windows® 8.1 64-bit:  Windows 8.1 Enterprise, Pro, or Windows 8.1)

If so, great.  Now look at the rest of the requirements.  Do you meet each one?

the service packs attempt to fix some of the known bugs / problems, just like other software service packs such as Microsoft and other program's.
