Just use two separate roofs and join them with the other with Join Roof tool.

Hello @iridabitri

Your roof plan don't even need to trim.

Using Roof by footprint. you have to create and combine the gable roof and hip roof.

If you don't have a choice rather that trimming the roof you can use this to cut and trim your roof.

Hi,

I have already tried those options that create a vertical opening but the problem is that ''pick line'' does not work (does not select anything), so I have to draw a line where the intersection is to cut. It does it but it is not perfect. It is not like trimming for a dormer that selects where the intersection is and cuts it exact. It surprises me that this program is so rigid and little room to work. I keep encountering problems. I find it so difficult to work with roofs; for example I have a hip end at 12/12 pitch with an outrigger @ 5/12 pitch. There is no room to draw that; you either make it 12/12 or 5/12, cant do both. Another problem where two ( three) roofs meet I have a flat roof that slopes down, and I don't know how to draw that. If you have any advise I would really appreciate that

Hello @Anonymous

I have also seen the other post you made and I found out you are creating  a very complicated roof. Can you share the roof plan and let's see what I can do. Words are not enough to explain how complicated what the solution is.

I need a CAD file for Plan and Elevations.

Thanks
