trapezoid wall and column are join issue

Hi everyone. I have a problem. How to this walls join to the column.

The problem is that the columns and walls do not join as in the picture attached.

Try making the wall and columns the same exact Material, as a test.

Also, try using Join Geometry.

Actually what I want to do is not merge, but instead of creating a new family, I am looking for a practical solution to extend the column towards the angled wall.

Not sure why you don't want to make a new Column Family--it would be very fast.

 

You could even give the angle a dimension instance parameter so you could adjust the angle of the column in different walls that are at different angles.

I'd talk to the Architect about this. Looks kind of nasty.  Maybe the solution will be moving the Wall or moving the Columns, if that is an option.  I'm sure there are building codes that will influence the decision as well.
