Transferring a model from Revit 2018 to 2016

Hello, I am very new to Revit and self taught. I recently used a point cloud to model a project in Revit 2018, and after modeling it was told it had to be in revit 2016. I know you cannot view a model in an earlier version of Revit, but you can however export it into an IFC, and then open it in an earlier version. In doing this however I know it also basically dumbs down all of my families, parameters, etc. significantly. There are certain aspects of this project that I really do not care if they are unintelligent blocks. However, In my model the conduit that I modeled is rather important, and I would like to have the intelligence that comes with it for future renovations, and whatnot. Is there any way to give this meaningless blob of conduit that I have exported, some intelligence? Or, am I just subject to re-run my conduit in revit 2016?

Your best bet is to re-run your conduit in revit 2016...until one day Autodesk decides to design support for backward version saving in Revit like AutoCAD....but I wouldn't hold your breath....

We understand your frustration, but this is quite a process.
