Topography surface pattern

Hi,

I have set my topography material to grass, the background surface pattern to solid fill and a green colour; the foreground pattern to sand and a grey colour. 

Why is it still white in plans & views?

Surface pattern is not possible on a Toposurface.

Topo surfaces do not support surface pattern, only Shading for Shaded/Consistent colors visual styles.

No.  But you could overlay a Consistent color view and a Hidden Line view on a sheet.
