File cannot be opened because there are too many missing elements. Told to contact Autodesk Support but I get no number. Please help.

You can contact Autodesk support through https://knowledge.autodesk.com/contact-support

...you might try opening file with "Audit" checked.

While waiting for the Support to response and solve it, if they ever will, try:
- to open the model with Audit
- open a backup

Thanks for the responses.  We've tried every combination of opening:

--Local vs. Central

--Audit checked vs. unchecked

--Detach from Central checked vs. unchecked

--Preserve Worksets vs. do not preserve

--Specifying worksets to Open

Worked this morning.  Restored to that version and to the previous version (day before).

None of these have worked.  Still get the error.

Only one person working on this now so there is no available local file from a different user to try.

We're stumped.

When trying to restore to an earlier backup, are you deleting your local and network Revit "backup folders" prior to opening and also opening with Detach From Central?

Thanks.  Good idea, but it didn't work.  Same error.

Try signing in and out of the Adesk account, on all PCs.--

sometimes a user name gets "lost".

Hi there, I'd just like to know if you resolved the issue? You've been very thorough with your checks and we've done the same but also have the same error occurring.

Good & bad news - Bad news is that nothing we tried worked.  We could not recover the file ourselves, and we really don't know what happened.

The good news is that we went through our reseller who sent the file to Autodesk.  They were able to recover in just a few hours.
