Maybe i don't understand very well how the reference view works, but that would be my problem:
In this configuration:
A B
C D
Nr. 1. One still needs to manually select the "missing parts" under target view before placing the tag, which means one could still make a mistake and place for example View B under A instead of C under A. As we are currently dealing with a very big project (hundreds of plan views) and nobody will have time to check this kind of details (that are nevertheless important) I prefer to completely automate the process.
2. Say I have 60 Floors, then I place the view references in floor nr. 1. I can't just copy paste aligned to selected views because the tags need to be referenced to the new targets one by one, right? Even if i am very careful and don't make any mistakes, it will still take me a lot of time. I am currently trying to avoid dynamo because we already have a lot of graphs going on...
3. I know that C always comes under A, D under B, B to the right of A and so on... I thought I could use the Sheet Number, that already contains the Information A, B, C, D plus Level and automate the process with visibility parameters: For example, for the bottom reference: If sheet number contains A, then the reference should be C, or if sheet number = XXXXXXXXXXXXXX_00_A, then reference number =XXXXXXXXXXXXXX_00_C. What I want to do is keep the sheet number and cover the last bit - A - with the letter C (if A, then C, if B, then, D). I know it sounds complicated, but this way XXXXXXXXXXXXXX (type, as in floor plan, ceiling plan, area plan...) and levels would get automatically updated, the hundreds of sheets would automatically create the references and we would have less to no chance of typos... This works perfectly well, the only problem is that the text (which is opaque) covers the tag with the sheet number perfectly well in the family editor and doesn't do the same in the project file....
3. This way i could place the text with the reference outside of the crop region, in a "clean area". Reference Views can only be placed inside, so either i choose a big tag, or it kind of blends with the rest of annotations and is not that easy to be found (the annotation crop area still has tons of grids, so it's still not as clean as I would wish). That's the least important, but still...
I am not very sure this is the best solution for the problem, my goals are basically 2: allow the team to work fast and avoid typos. I would be happy to get other suggestions, or perhaps there's something more to match lines and view references i don't know?
Cheers!
