why is the mass not considered a geometry if i have pattern based facade on it and the mass is hidden? what i'm trying to do is cut the mass in a specific area inside my project so i'll get an opening (mass was loaded into it).

what can i do in this situation?

attached a screenshot showing the form of the mass and in blue is the void i want to cut out of the mass.

thanks

The solid forms and the void forms must be in the same mass.

That makes sense but inside the big project, I know where to do the void
because of other stuff built there. Is there a way to somehow bring a
wall/floor from the big project to the fam mass so it'll give me an
indication where to use the void.
Thanks!

You might be able to get there by Exporting the System Families in the "Big" Project to DWG, and then inserting the DWG into the Mass.
