I was working on a local file when I finished my work I synced and closed the file but when I try to reload to the documentation file it can't be reloaded or opening again and I found this message  "there are too many elements missing in it".

I tried to open again the file and using (Audit) but it's not working too.

Have you tried opening the central file directly?

If it gives you the same error, I would try to see if one of your team members can open (detaching+audit) their local and check if they have the latest changes or at least a slight loss of progress that you could live with.

If that opens then I would archive all the other locals (including yours) and recreate a new central. When they open then central new locals will be created and you should be set.

Please ensure you archive/backup all the files and get everybody off that model before you do anything. I would also try to test all that on a separate location just in case.

Alternatively, you could try to use the backups in the "collaborate" tab and see if reloading a previous save will let you open the model.

what is the "Document File"? You state you were in your Local and Synced to Central. That should have updated your Central model. So is that Central model then Linked into another "Document file"?

I tried that solution but also it gives me the same error.

I can not recognize the error problem.

Hey,

My workflow when this happens is to do as suggested above, try everyone else's local files to see if one of those will open.

If that doesn't work, try a windows recover (right click on the file), if that doesn't work, try a Revit backup...

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/...

Otherwise talk to your IT team about a server backup.

Here is some official documentation with advice as to how to try and stop it happening in future.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...

Here is my totally unofficial workflow with no guarantees of success...

  • Hit audit when opening the recovered file to create your new central.
  • Regularly sync with 'compact', this takes longer but lets Revit make a more orderly internal data structure.
  • Regularly (ie. at the end of every day) create a new central file by detaching and saving.
  • Undertake regular model maintenance to clean out warnings in the file.

Hopefully that is useful,

Mark
