Text is printing larger than it appears?

I am getting this issue now too on a brand new laptop and Revit 2018 setup.  I do have a Full HD screen but I can't believe this issue hasn't been fixed as yet.  I tried the 100% to 125% font change and this still didn't work.  Any suggestions?  Cheers

I applied this Microsoft KB hotfix and it fixed my issue on a dozen or so machines.

Microsoft KB2768741

Thanks for the quick reply Dave.  I'm running Windows 10, have you used this on a W10 machine?  Thanks in advance

I do not have the hotfix applied to my WIN 10 machines. I would check the versions of the DLLs mentioned in the KB article to see if the versions in WIN 10 match or are higher than the versions in the article.

@Anonymous, I am encountering the same problem, did you have any luck getting around it (hotfix for Win 10 perhaps)? Anyone else?

I'm running a new Dell XPS15 plugged into a 4K Dell monitor, and currently the only workaround that actually works is doing a complete restart, which is basically retarded and really cuts into workflow. So not really a workaround IMHO.

Installed the Revit LT 2018.2 Update as well for waht that was worth, no change.

Come on Autodesk!

I Found reducing the screen resolution back to say the traditional 1920 x
1080 fixed the problem. Autodesk hasn't dealt with 4K displays yet.

Hi johnNEGUC, I read a few other posts and some people simply suggested a reboot and that worked for me.  It hasn't happened again since but I am sure it will popup again.  I did try adjusting the resolution of my screen as well as the text size like some others had suggested but that didn't help me at all.

@Anonymous, yes rebooting does resolve the problem for me, at least until the next time it happens (once a day more or less). It's just when you're in the zone getting stuff done and then *bang*, you have to restart....

Hard to believe Autodesk hasn't resolved this? I know a number of other people who run 4k displays off a laptop or similar. They're very common now and once you've gone 4k (or, dare I say it, 5k retina display, I was forced to use ArchiCAD on a mac for 3 years), it's hard to go back.

I'll add my voice to what is no doubt a growing noise of complaints to Autodesk about this issue...

We have had this issue in Revit 2017, Revit 2018 on Windows 10 and Windows 7 machines.  I don't really like the 'answer' of rebooting the machine... as this issue always rears its ugly head when we are trying to get a project out the door.  Has it been determined that this is a graphics card issue?

Thanks

Hi @hworrell

I hear you, I've been there.

I can investigate further if you can send us files to test further. Graphics cards are one major cause, but in some instances, there may be something that forces this behavior.

Let me know and I can send you a private folder to test.

Regards,
