Terrain, Pointclouds, roads etc...

Hello,

This is a general question to everybody out there. I have a some pointcloud data (RCS). From this data I like to get the terrain and roads into Revit... I find roads hard to model in Revit, especially when the terrain isn't all straight. There's also a bridge involded in this project.  So I guess what would be the best workflow for such a job?

The programs we have to our disposal is:

Revit

Recap

Infraworks

Civil 3D

Any advice is higly appriciated!

You want to create a Toposurface of this site in Revit? How about contacting the site's Civil Engineer and seeing if they have a 3D mapping?  If the site is developed, then Civil Plans must exist.  I would think it likely that the Civil Engineer has 3D mapping and/or Point File.  Either one can be used to create a Toposurface in Revit.

Haven't done it myself, but since you said you have access to Civil3D, check out these videos.  The first explains how to make the topo surface in civil 3D. The second one converts the surface from Civil 3D to a .dwg file so you can import into Revit and then generate the final toposurface natively in Revit.
