Hello

I'm trying to make a series of custom tag families including sections, callouts, and elevations.  I'm trying to make each of these tags "smart", or, in other words, able to read the sheet and autopopulate the labels.  I require several different labels than what is already available in the parameter category in each of these tags, and on top of that I'm not entirely certain what some of those pre-existing parameters do.  When I try inserting them into a sheet they only turn up blank.  In attempting to create shared parameters, the dialog box does not let me create any more parameters than what already exists.  These are the parameters for setting labels in the tag families.

I need a label that can count the number of instances of the tag.  In other words, if I were to place two section tags they would be automatically labeled 1 and 2 in order of placement.  This label will be added to title tags, sections tags, and elevation tags.

How would I go about making this or finding this?

Thanks in advance.

I've already had this conversation with AutoDesk. No go. Labels / tags aren't that smart yet.

That's a shame.  I suppose I can set up a standard text box for that.  Do you know if it's possible for labels to pull the title of the sheet?  For example, if you put a title in for a viewport, the title will take the name of that sheet.

You would need to create a Shared Parameter and associate it with Sheets and Views. The label that you create would be with that Shared Parameter.
