Tag which reads sheet number param

is is there a way to make a tag read the sheet number parameter?

What exactly is it you're trying to do? Usually you would use a Label within the sheet to report this automatically - why do you want to tag it?

I am making a sheet specific notes so I thought of a tag (I used a generic annotation) with a label into which I added those instance parameters (number, note, sheet number)

the tag displays just a circle with a number from the instance param above ... Then I enter my notes + sheet number in the properties the I schedule them for each sheet using note block 

i I thought if I could have a tag which reads the sheet number so I don't have to type it and so I can place the tag on the view instead of sheet and when view is placed on a sheet the tag would read the sheet number automatically 🙂

it works as I did above it just gets messy when I forget to change the sheet numbers

Let me just see if I understand you correctly. You want a tag that can be placed in a view that reports the sheet that the view is placed on?

1. Use a View Title, it already has Sheet parameters built-in
2. Use Dynamo to harvest Sheet parameters and place in tags on View

@ToanDN I cannot insert or create instance for view titles on views themselves...they are generated when I place a view on a sheet yes but I am looking for a tag which I can place on the plan view (several instances) then schedule those using View>Schedules>Note Block

i am not sure if the Dynamo thing does the trick ... It has become common to see posts that suggest the use of Dynamo for things that Revit already does. Do not overcomplicate this matter. If you need to have a tag that you can schedule you have basically 2 options:

1) Option 1 is an annotation family with two parameters, one for the "ID" of the element, another one for the Description of the id number or letter. The annotation symbol is just a circle or square with a label inside that is tied to the ID parameter. In the project, place as many of these annotation families, and then create a note-block schedule.

This option 1 is useful when you need to tag something that does not have a host. And by this I mean that Option 2 is a tag that needs to find a host, such as a wall, a desk, etc. Option 1 is a tag that can be put in the middle of nowhere. Option 2 needs to be pointing at something.

2) Option 2 is a keynote tag. There are 3 kinds, User Keynote, Element Keynote, and Material Keynote. I suggest that you read in the Help documents about the details of this topic. This tag can be schedule with a Keynote Legend, and it can be filtered by sheet, which I think is what you are looking for.

Reading through this post, I believe you are already doing what @Alfredo_Medina suggested in his first method (using generic annotation asociated with an instance text parameter to generate Sheet remarks. 

Unfortunately; Revit does not do what you are asking for...Dynamo is a must 🙂

Note Blocks schedule only Generic Annotations (label tags with no host required)... and Gen Annots, solely in Revit, neither allow one to add any shared parameters nor system parameters such as Sheet Number which is typically found in annotations such as Section Head, View Reference, View Title, Call out head and the like...and which is more unfortunate is that one cannot nest such families into a generic annotation (cannot be placed in that mode - which already observed I believe)...so your labels are limited to family parameters

The solution to do what you described (filtering those schedule using sheet number)

• Do it manually by typing the sheet number into an instance parameter (which you are laready doing I assume)

OR

• Use Dynamo to write the those parameters ... A similar script or concept of that script can be found on this link ->>> HERE and many similarmay also be found on DynamoBIM.org . They might not serve the exact purpose you are aiming for 100% but you can give those a try and if you need further help to fix an error, you may post your question with screenshot either on DynamoBIM.org or here on this forum

The Option # 2 method that I proposed in my previous post, can be used to filter notes by sheet, eliminating the need to have a "sheet number parameter". As long as all those notes are pointing at some elements that can be tagged with keynotes, the keynote tag does the job very well.

 There are no elements to tag... These are more like general notes all over layout and each address several things mostly design 😕

@RDAOU thanks for the reply long time haven't seen u on this forum... Well I guess I'm stuck with Dynamo. Thanks for that link, I don't know much about Dynamo but what is explained there makes lots of sense I just need to try it and hope it does the job

i've 100 beams in floor plan and my single part drawings sheet is 100 no. i need to tag the sheet nos of  the beams so people can relate to which drawings sheet to look for that particular beam.

is there anyway to do it?
