Hello Everyone
Is there a way to tag a wall above a door (or window) opening in floor plan, which would read the height of the wall above the door and than display it with LINEWORK, without needing to model separate wall/beam above the door or use annotation text to display the height?
I need to display the height of that beam in floorplan for structural purposes.
If I have not misunderstood, do you want a label to show you the distance from the top of the door to the top of the wall without modeling beams?

Embed the information + the symbolic overhead lines in the door family and create a different door tag to tag it.
Read this and about the "invisible line trick" here:
I think it may be just what you're looking for.
...OKAY, I see now that you clearly said you didn't want to do this. You just want the Plan View to reference the Wall HEIGHT that is above the door head/opening. Not Beam, but Wall. Odd requirement.
Like this:
Split the Wall at the Door Opening (e.g. one Wall to host the Door and the other one above the Door).
...probably need to call out the base as well to avoid confusion.
- add symbolic hidden lines in the family and constrain them to the opening width and wall thickness
- create a dim of wall thickness and associate it with a shared instance reporting parameter [wall depth]
- create a door tag family, add a label, add the shared parameter [wall depth] and Width to the label composition: Width x [wall depth]
