System UI font & icon sizes

I am leaving the software Chief Architect for Revit 2025 but one of the things I already miss is the ability to change within the program itself, is the ability to change the font & icon sizes ever so slightly! I have two 4K curved 34" monitors which work great throughout my Win 11 Pro environment, but not so great in Revit 2025. I just had my last birthday before I hit 60 but in the last 6 months I have discovered the need for glasses. So you can understand part of my need to be able to tweak this UI! All my other software looks great at my current windows settings so it would be great to have an easy to find location to tweak the UI (within certain limits, I understand) so I don't have to crank my whole system in too large of a setting, distorting my other UI's!

Hi,

You’re definitely not alone — many users on high-resolution monitors (especially 4K) struggle with Revit’s limited UI scaling options.

⚠️ Revit 2025 currently does not offer built-in controls to adjust font or icon sizes within the software UI itself.

However, here are a few workarounds that may help:

1. Use Windows Display Scaling (per monitor):

  • Go to Settings > System > Display

  • Adjust Scale and layout (125%–150%)

  • This improves Revit readability without affecting your entire system if applied per monitor.

2. Enable “Override high DPI scaling” (Optional):

  • Right-click on the Revit shortcut > Properties

  • Under Compatibility > Change high DPI settings

  • Enable Override high DPI scaling behavior > set to System (Enhanced)
⚠ Use cautiously — may cause slight UI blur in some elements.

Please use " Accept as Solution", and give kudos as appropriate to further enhance these forums. Thank you!

Hey @j_moore2S2GD

You don't need to change the global settings and mess up the resolution and scaling for all applications, as suggested. In Windows, you can apply scaling on a per-app basis.

With Revit closed, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Revit shortcut.

  2. Go to the Compatibility tab.

  3. Click Change high DPI settings.

  4. Check Program DPI.

  5. Click Open advanced scaling settings.

  6. Apply a custom scaling for Revit.

  7. Click Apply.

However, be aware that Revit has recommended display settings. It's not very adaptive and may not function properly if those settings are over stretched.
