Symbols

I am trying to insert a symbol to my elevations. Unfortunately it doesnt show up after I load it. I need to know why in general Rvit soesnt show the symbols I insert.  I have checked visbility graphics. The symbol and the project are both attached. .

Hey @Anonymous

 

It depends on how you load a family (a symbol or anything else) into the project.

  1. When you load it from the family editor it shouldn't automatically show; it will just reside in the project browser.
    • You will need to envoke the Symbol command and then select it from the drop down menu or properties palette
    • OR...look it up in the project browser and then drag and drop it in the project view which you need
  2. When you envoke the Symbol command first (in your project) then load it in (from within the command) then it will automatically show on your screen
