Switching a levels elevation base does not change the level elevation shown.

My PBP is at 0' elevation. My SP is at -16' Elevation. I have a level that is at -16' relative to the PBP, i.e. 0' relative to SP.

When I change the elevation base to SP, the level elevation still shows -16', even though the level is 0', in elevation, from the SP.

I assume, I am doing something wrong, because what's the reason for having the option to change the elevation base, if it does not actually change the elevation base?

Thoughts?

If you are moving the SP while unclipped, you are not moving the SP Origin.  If you are moving the SP while clipped, you are also moving the SP Origin.

The issue im now having though with that, is moving the survey point down, moves the project base point up.

@barthbradley Is it possible to move the SP independent of the PBP?

I'm not following.  What do you mean by "move the SP independent of the PBP"?

I meant move the survey point origin independent of the project base point, because when I move the survey point clipped, the project base point adjusts as well.

You said moving the survey point unclipped doesn't move its origin, so I have to move it clipped to adjust its origin, and that worked, but when I move the survey point clipped, the project base point coordinates adjust.

It seems like the survey point has priority over the PBP.

The Level elevation shows the value relative to the VALUE of the base, not the base itself.  So because you moved the SP uncliped, it's value is -16' and the Level at the SP is -16'.  If you want the Level placed at the SP showing 0 then move the SP clipped instead.

Ahhh I follow. Doesn't help me now though because I don't think i'd be able to adjust my stuff without throwing some other stuff off. But it looks like the relation between project base point and level elevations work differently then the survey point. The PBP allows me to move it clipped and unclipped and it adjust the level elevations (when the elevation base is set to PBP) the way I was hoping the survey point worked. The survey point seems to be at a higher level of hierarchy then the PBP. I was just always taught the PBP was more important but it makes senses, the survey point is stagnant on a site because obvious reasons and the PBP can move around dependent on the model or which every building your working on (I do multifamily so we have a different model for each building, and they are at different heights so that's why this was an issue for me.)
