Sweep won't work on Roof

HI,

I'm trying to cut a void into as curved roof.

I can't select the void to use "Cut" tool when Edit in Place?

A simple void extrusion won't  cut the roof either?

You mean you modeled an In-Place Void and you can't use Cut Geometry to cut a System Family Roof with the Void?  You should be able to.  Post the file.

That's ok, I was using a Sweep to cut not a Sweep Void...

You could have still done it with a Solid. Instead of Cut Geometry, you would Join Geometry - and then hide the Solid Sweep Extrusion in the View. Viola! The Roof would be cut by the Solid just as if it were cut by a Void.
