Swapping Floor plans to different levels

Ok here's my predicament.  I need to swap my 2nd floor plan with my 3rd floor plan.  They have the same floor plate so essentially the program has just swapped levels.  We are pretty far along in the project and thus there is a lot of information in all the rooms, doors, walls, floors, ceilings, etc.  In addition to that we have several views already set up with annotations that are associated with both floor plans.  To complicate things further the building is broken up into two phases where some of the walls will be demolished and new walls added in the second phase.  What is the easiest (or least complicated) way of doing this without losing all the information embedded in the elements and how can I bring all those annotation views with me.

My initial approach:  I thought I could group everything on a particular floor, then group all the annotations from the different views associated with that floor and attached it to that model group.  I would then convert that model group to a revit link in order to unjoin everything.  Move the new link to a temporary level.  Do the same with the other level and move it to the correct location and then move the first link to its correct location now that the old one is gone.  Bind the link models back and include all the detail groups/views as well.  I would then need to go back in and change the phasing of the walls.  This got real messy and actually crashed my revit session a few times.  Any suggestions?

Your approach seems right. At which point did Revit crash?

It crashed when I tried to bind the link back.  Half the time it would crash and the other times it would give me a comical amount of errors and warnings which when I resolved them it still gave me a cannot bind elements error at the very end and I had to cancel.  I think what I am going to do is save a separate model.  I will just erase everything from one model (model elements and rooms) and begin to copy paste aligned from the separated model.  I will probably create groups for the model elements in each floor as well as all the annotations from each view before bringing them in.  Most of the information will carry over but I will need to renumber rooms and doors which I will try to use a dynamo script for.  As for the phasing, I can isolate the elements in each phase and paste them while in the same phase in the separate model.  It will be tedious but I can't think of any other way to do it.
