Scheduling Equipment

I want to schedule kitchen equipment and I do not want to include toilet accessories (for example). But every object tagged shows up in the schedule. How do I eliminate some of the items without deleting the instance of that object in the project?

Hi there.

You can produce another equipment schedule but with filters apllied. Try to insert information on the kitchen`s equipments to aplly an filter and only show the equipments that you want. Here`s an example:

In your example of filtering on "kitchen ."  Is "kitchen" added to each equipment instance so it gets chosen when the filter is applied?

If your parameter chosen was the Description, which is the case, yes. It must be inserted in every equipment.

But you can also filter the schedule for Room`s parameters. For example, only show the equipments that are on a Room called Kitchen.

Then, the schedule only gonna show the equipments with that information.

Are you having to use a multi-category schedule? If toilets are in your schedule, you're picking up the plumbing fixtures category at least. It would be nice if all of your kitchen equipment families were of the specialty equipment category. Then you could make a schedule for that and it wouldn't pick up plumbing fixtures.

But that might be a lot of hassle. The easiest way is to select all of your kitchen equipment at once, put the word Kitchen (or whatever) into one of the blank parameter fields that you aren't otherwise using (I use the comments parameter usually, unless I need it for something specific) and then filter your schedule based on that.

You have to add the parameter to the scheduled columns before you can filter on it, but you can hide it if you don't want it to show up on your sheet.
