Hi all,

I would like to create an SVP family that consists of an extruded void (150mm diameter x depth parameter) and a 2D symbol with 110mm diameter pipe and 150mm diameter dashed line to indicate the hole.

I can do the first bit easily, but when I add 2D symbols in the ref plan view, I cannot add in a filled region. Upon googling this, I understand that I need to nest an annotation symbol to do this. If this is right ?

When I create an generic annotation, this scales with the view scale, which I do not want.

Could you please advise the correct way to do this ? Should I be using detail componants for this ? I also need to use this family to set out from, so I need dimensions to recognise for witness lines.

Thanks in advance.

Create your hatch/filled region in a Detail Item family and nest that into your host. You can use reference planes and demensional relationships to make it parametric and adjustable. If you associate those detail item parameters you can then control them inside the project environmet.
