Survey Point Value do not match Arch Linked Model

Hi All,

I have an Structure model which have an Arch model linked by Auto:Origin to Origin. Both model share the same coordinate and both model match location and Survey Point, Project Base Point and Internal Origin.

But the values of the Survey Point and Project Base Point do not match.

How can I make SP and PBP of my model match Arch values?

I appreciate any help.

If the model and the link aligned then acquired or publish coordinates to establish a shared coordinates system among all models.

Both model already shared coordinate.

Can you verify if any of the steps below that you did NOT do, or any extra steps that you did do? 

- link the Architecture in Structure, Auto Origin to Origin

- move the link so that Architecture align with your model

- acquire coordinates

By the way, when you use shared coordinates, locations of Internal Origin and Project Base Point do not need to match between linked models.  Sure you can match Project Base Points so levels and spot elevations match, but they are not required for georeference and coordination.

Yes, that was your mistake. Never move the building that you have already modeled. Instead, move the link. First, in plan view (x and y). Then, in elevation or section (z), align the link to your model. Then, select the link and do Acquire Coordinates.

Yes moving your model is the mistake.  Have you done any work after moving your model?

Thank you for following up on this issue, I'm almost there, but not yet.

Now both model match Location, also Project Base Point, Survey Point values are the same but the elevation is off by 10'-0"

You forget the one step moving the architecture link in Z direction to match your model.

I suggest the following steps to fix it:

- go to Manage > Coordinates >  Reset Share Coordinates

- open to an elevation view, move the link vertically so the levels match

- select the link and acquire coordinates.

I followed your suggestion, and now the model levels match, but the internal point does not and we are linked our model by Auto: Origin to Origin. So when the Architect links our model, it will not match. Please let me know how to fix that.

Internal Origin locations do not matter once you established a shared coordinates.  In fact, you don't need to link Auto Origin to Origin to begin with because you are going to move the link to align with your model anyhow.  Just turn off Internal Origin via VG if they bother you.

Yes, but please read my message again (post # 6), it says, in other words, move the link so that it aligns to your model, first, in plan view (x, y), then in elevation or section (z). I see in another message from you, after this one, that you aligned the link in plan view only. It needs to be in all 3 dimensions. Then, acquire coordinates.
