surface to 'stick' to Civil3D surface

I am trying to setup a way to have my Revit split topo grade surface stick to an updated Civil3D surface. (like copy monitor, but actually MOVE)

I am using Revit, civil is using civil 3D.

I used the original polylines from Civil3D to CREATE a surface in Revit, I then split the surface into roads, sidewalks, sod, bedding and assigned materials.

But the civil topo surface keeps on being updated here and there. I do NOT want to re-import every time the civil adjust grade and have to re-make the split surfaces every time there is a change.

Is there a way to have the topo surface stick to an imported 3dface which would be the grade??  (like applying a wall to an odd shaped mass).

It is the day to day topo changes without re-creating is what I am looking for.

All help is great appreciated

Hi i am a C3D user 10-15 years and am learning revit full time and i moved a revit model to c3D and some revit fidelity was lost

I next moved the C3D to Revit and the same result of C3D objects manipulation where lost.

Since i know C3D well i would export your revit model to C3D and do all the outside building type stuff in C3D

3D trees and parking and curbs etc for this is what C3D does well.

And ask the C3D operators to make a nice terrain model to fit your Building to satisfaction

C3D does the grading parking xsections pipeing really well and inside the building Revit is the way to go

I would ask C3D to Send you the extracted DTM objects that you can insert into revit to Check Things using the same

file name in Manage Links

The whole back and forth Revit To C3D seems like there are way to many Catch 22 trade offs

Could you post a revit drawing to see what you are trying to do or a couple of screen shots
