Surface Pattern not Displaying

I need these to display with a concrete surface pattern:

No View Template used in this view.

You can see that the elevation view is not cutting, but should be showing the surface of the elements:

You can see the 3D view does not show concrete on the sides:

Paint the wall and floor edges with the concrete material.

Yes.  The edges are defined not by the components' materials, but via Object styles.

not that you would necessarily want to.... but you could select the element and pick Create Parts too.

it breaks the element down to its individual components. so a wall or floor  that has multiple layers in its structure will separate out into there layers and can be manipulated separately.  i only use them in very specific instances. i have just seen it cause issues in a model when it is done too often. 

 

on the left is a wall that has had Create Parts applied to it, on the Right is a normal wall.

Select Floor and press Create Parts and watch the magic happen.

you can control the visibility per view with the Parts Visibility properties option....
