Support aligment to Handrail

Should not the Support instance be set along the Handrail at its center?

It seems to be a little off. This will mess the actual height that the Support will need to have in order to go all the way down.

Handrail profile has been set from the RefPlane down.

Support circular profile has been set radially to the built-in RefPlanes.

File attached containing the Handrail and Support families.

View containing snapshot is called "First Flight Well Section"

My question was not clear.

What I meant by being a little off was:

Why is it not using the alignment shown in green below, which is set at the Support's midpoint. But rather using the blue axis, which is off by 1mm?

Hi @jagostinho74 ,

Can you tell me if any of the offset properties of the railing/supports affect this?

hi @andrea.kikuchi .

Thank you for your reply.

Not that I could find, no.

Only by shifting the Support profile in the support family by the same amount. But this amount will also need to be approximate since I cannot snap to the multi-story support Object Snaps.

This method does not seem right. I would expect the built-in RefPlanes in the Support family template to be hard-coded to align correctly when hosted to a handrail.

Hi @jagostinho74 ,

It looks like this railing is a custom family, is that correct? I was not able to reproduce this issue with our out of the box families. Are you able to compare your family to the standard versions to see what might be off?

Hi @andrea.kikuchi ,

It happens to me with the standard ones as well. See image below where I used the OOTB "Metal-25mm" support that is included with the default UK library. The center is still off.

Can you upload the file you setup using the standard family so that I can compare?Image 1070.png
