Super family room boundary grip not working as intended.

I'm making a super family of a typical Universal washroom. My goal is to stretch the room layout and have my fixtures follow the moving wall (i.e. not stay stationary), but I want a parameter to change their horizontal locations if I needed to. For instance, I have locked my sink to a reference plane (RP) and gave an instance parameter to the dimension from this RP to the wall beside it (so I can change it later if I want to). When I test it out, and stretch the room, instead of the sink moving along with the chosen wall (with the same dimension of 460), it stays right where it is (i.e. I would have to type in my desired dimension in the properties panel). The problem is the room grips, when I stretch the room boundary grips, the fixtures don't follow along with the moving wall (forcing me to type the desired dimension).

What should I do to make the fixture follow the moving wall and maintain the same distance as the super family (460mm), by stretching the grips and not manually typing in my dimensions.

Lock the parameters.

I have already locked the dimensions. When I manually type to increase or decrease the size of the room in the properties panel, the fixtures move along with the moving wall (good), but I don't want to manually type to change room size, I want the room grips to snap onto walls (make drafting more efficient and precise). Right now the problem is with the grips (fixtures don't move when I stretch the room by the grips).

Make them Type parameters.

Thank you very much, grips work perfectly. But the super family is no longer meeting its purpose because I would have to keep duplicating the family to make any sort of adjustments for height or position. I would really appreciate it if you could point me to a solution where I can still maintain the dimensions as instance parameters but make the room grips work properly.

You don't have to duplicate the family, just duplicate the type within the family.

Another way to do it is not using ref planes to locate the nested fixture, but place the dimension parameter directly to the fixture itself.  This way the fixture will move along when you move the wall in the project, but you can still type in a value to relocate it closer or farther from the wall if needed.
