Sunshade Family Parameters Setting

1. I have a sunshade family loaded and placed in the project, but the elevation is grayed out but it is not grayed out in a another project I tested. Do not know the reason.

2. The bracket count is grayed out, do not know why it says 14, totally only 4 are needed, not sure how to change it

For the settings, they are calculations that show you what values to enter and how many of them.

So first you enter the Widht (width of the sunshade), then you enter Mullion distance, this presumes that it is to be placed on a curtain wall, if not, it serves as distance between brackets, what ever you want to set it.

And now "Bracket count" tells you how many brackets sunshade should have. And then you enter that distance in "Bracket 01 distance", "Bracket 02 distance", Bracket 03 distance"...

For greyed out offset, maybe you placed it on a work plane instead of face?

Thanks for your explanation!

The first issue is solved.

The second one - Both situations, I hose it onto the face of mullion.

I'm not crazy about that family. I understand why they modeled it the way they did, so brackets can be spaced irregularly, but that's unnecessary to me. Use it if you want, but I would find another family.

Can't recreate it, sorry. I placed it on horizontal mullions, vertical ones, placed it vertically, on interior side, on exterior... Elevation from level works every time. The only time it's greyed out is when I place it on horizontal face.

Same here with the tested project. I assume it is something to do with the project I am working on, maybe some setting caused that. The good news is I can still place it whatever height it needs to be. The grayed out doesn't affect that.
