I am trying to do a Sun Study in Revit Architecture 2011. I would like to do this study using Interoir-Sun. I have the Daylight Portals on for Windows Curtain Walls and Doors. Sun Settings In session - Still. April 15th 3:00pm. Sandusky, Ohio. First question. The rendering is coming out dark. Second. How would I run the frames for a Sungle day each hour from Sunrise to Sunset.

so for your second question i have added an image - you can control the time and all that in the dialog box.

for the first question - can you post an image?

First question comment: My image is black. Attached are pictures of the 3D View Rendered and Not Rendered and the Render Dialog Box.. Above are Clere Story Windows. We are trying to see how much Sunlight comes in.

Second question comment: This is a separate issue to be able to see the sun animate throughtout the day. The Sun Settings were set in the Study to Single Day , Sunrise to Sunset, One Hour. But when I Render it only Renders one frame.

Thanks,

Tony

Okay -the image helps a lot.... the interior lighting - it looks like you have lights in the building but they are not on... make sure the lights you use have lumins and are on. you can control the lighting in the render window. without any interior lights on you will have no light in your building...

Okay for the second question - i apparently didn't understand what you meant.  to see the sunstudy run you need to click on the preview sun study - i have attached another image... you don't use the render for this. you can export this also as an avi i believe.

does this help?

I was trying to run the Rendering Interior: Sun Only to see what daylighting made it into the building. Is this possible in Revit ? There should be sun coming from the Clere Story windows above.

Yes it is very possible as your image shows... You should be able to see the sun coming in the clerestory windows if the sun is coming in through them. I would check the windows to make sure they are translucent and that the direction of the sun is hitting them. Other then that i am not sure what else to do.
