Structural Grid Lines

In the office that I work at they like the structural grids to have a gap so they do not go through the plan, but on the elevations they like the grid lines to go through the elevations without a gap, is there a way to achieve this?

You can create a new Style for the Gap Option and Apply it to Plans and use this as the Default Grid Line Style for the elevations.

Select the Grid line > Properties Palette > Edit Type

Duplicate the Existing Style
Change the setting for “Center Segment” to “None”.
Change the ‘End Segments Length’ to a different value if desired.
You can override any individual grid lines via grips on the screen.

@jay_colc  How do you change the type of a grid line in one view without changing the same grid line in another view?

Good question @Alfredo_Medina, it would have to be a manual process of dragging the node point of one of the ends down to the other segment

Maybe a compromise would be to display the centre segment in a lighter colour to try and please both scenarios?

OK. In your previous post you used the word "style" and then gave instructions about how to duplicate the grid type, and then you said that the user could apply one "style" to plan views and another one for elevations. So, by "style", you meant just manual modification of the grids, not in the sense of "type".
