Structural Column Constraints

I was wondering on plan once I place in Structural Columns, the constrains are set to a negative number. How can I change the default properties of the Structural Column to host on a base level and a top level?

The family is correct and its locked in a Base Ref. Level and Top Ref. Level but once I place in a new column, it has a default of a Base Level = Level 1, Base offset = -9'-0", Top Level = Level 1. I want to to be Base Level = Level 1, Base offset = -0'-0", Top Level = Level 2 as a default.

I cant seem to edit the constraints before placing the column. In order for me to find the column, I need to go into 3D view or adjust the View Depth.

Any ideas on this how to set the default constraint?

Hi before placing the column. Make sure that in the options bar you have to change the drop-down from "Depth" to "Height". Hope this helps.
