I keep running into this issue.
I have some openings (masonry openings in this case) that I simply want to create openings of various. sizes without needing to create another family of a different name etc.
Idea being I place an opening and stretch it to whatever odd width I need.
Then I come back later and and dimension in plan.
My guess the reason revit wants me to create separate families is that this has something to do with scheduling. So, I can understand that for a cased opening as example (hollow metal frames etc.
But in these cases what I'm dealing with will NOT be cased per se.... so will be dimensioned on the plan.
Wondering what best practice would be for this type situation?
