Standard 3D Geometry - Assembly View Visibility

Hi All,

So I work for a design-build company and we have a large library of custom details and families. I am setting up a company template file and have a bit of a tricky question. Some of our standard details involve 3D views of certain installations, what I have done is made these standard 3D views as assemblies so they can be placed all throughout the project. However, the only way for me to make the views is if the assembly is actually placed in the model somewhere i.e. on level 1. My problem is I want a template where this assembly and view exists but without the assembly being visible on any of the starting views (plans, elevations, etc...). So basically I want the view and the assembly, but without it really having to be 'placed' in the model.

The old workaround of this was to create a jpeg of this 3d view and then just place it on the sheet. I, however, find it hard to believe that there is not a way to fix this.

The actual model appearing at level 1The actual model appearing at level 13D View as I want it to appear on the sheet.3D View as I want it to appear on the sheet.

I would appreciate any advice on this!

Thanks

You can add two more phases before the actual working phase: one for creating the assemblies and one for demolishing them. Your view under the working phase will have none of them.

I was hoping that wouldn't be the only way, but so be it.

Thank You!
