Staircases - multistorey - tread number tagging

Hi

I have created a multi-storey staircase and now I want to tag the tread numbers. There are 72 steps. I am able to tag these steps correctly in section. They go from the ground floor at step 1, up to the 4th floor at step 72. However, when I go to my plan view, the tread numbers are 55-63 and 64-72 on every level (it's a dog leg staircase with 9 steps - landing - 9 steps). How do I get the tread numbers to read correctly on each level?

I created the staircase with the base level on ground floor, the top level on 4th floor. There was no multistorey top level. Desired risers of 72. Riser height 170 and tread of 270.

I'm afraid that is indeed a problem in Revit with this fuction....I'v made myself some notes on this subject in a previous post:

I'm afraid not...

In such a case I use a workaround:

• I don't use Multistory , but a stair that covers one Level - let's say from Level 1 to Level 2
• I use then Copy /Paste to selected Level and I paste the stair to all desired Levels
• now, I make duplicates of the Stairs for copied Levels - from 1 to n using Edit Type > Duplicate - so I'll have for instance: Monolithic Stair 1, Monolithic Stair 2......Monolithic Stair n
• I can now, in Floor Plan Levels apply tag :Stair Tread/Riser Number beginning  with 1 for the Level 1, with (Level 1 Risers number)+1 for Level 2 ...and so on..

You are sort of be able to do it in 2018.  Not to say that 2018 multi-stairs don't come with their own (other) problems.  See attached 2018 file.

it looks that in 2018 it is no need of duplicating....

Hey there!

Just had this problem and found out that if you select the multistory stairs and unpin each stair, you can edit individualy each "Tread/Riser Start Number" without a problem 🙂

I had the same problem and used "Tab" to cyclic select the required level of threads for numbering. Like one level below the top level, 1 Tab and so on....
