Staircase on first floor plan not showing (previously was showing)

Please can anyone help; I have created a staircase earlier in my project and now i have come back to it there is an issue where it is not visible on the first floor. I have searched blogs but cannot find the cause of the issue.

Some things I have checked: 

1. the phasing is the same, on both plans, and on the staircase

2. Staircase is showing on sections and 3d

3. visibility graphics overrides checked and all ticked - no issues that I can see here.

I think that either I am missing something fundamental in the views or this is a glitch.

Have you checked your view range?

Sorry it was user error - by some strange magic I had a really small roof layer over the first floor and this was obscuring the staircase, rather than a stairs/phasing or view range issue.
