Stair Stringer Modification

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

How could I modify the arrangement of the stringer supports to achieve the arrangement I've tried to illustrate in 'Capture 2' image attached? I.e. for stringers from the upper and lower flight of stairs to intersect at the same height.

Ideally I would like to do this without having to spate the flights of stairs and insert a spate landing.

Thanks,

Joe

You need to extend the landing.  Make your landing U-shaped.

Thanks @David_Knight !

The solution worked apart for one landing, any ideas why this could be?

See my attached image 'Capture 3'.

The geometry of the landings are the same and the stair flights are still connected.

my gut tells me that the landing stringer and the stair stringer may be out of alignment by something like 1/16" or something really small and unnoticeable.  but that is just a guess.

to trouble shoot, i would verify the stringer is in the correct location, and use the align tool to align the landing line to the stringer (when in edit mode on the landing).  If that did not fix the issue - then... well... maybe recreate the stair - or copy it down from above?  Depends on how much detailing you've done on which way i would proceed next.

Sometimes just recreating it can be easy, but if you have it fully dimensioned and detailed then it may be a bad route to go.
