how the hell can i get this parameter working so i can type something there like "u/s ceiling"
the fact the they exist mean that we can modify them, but how?
When you place a spot elevation on a floor in a plan view and choose top and bottom elevations then you can type in those values.
i need to do it in elevation views.... is there a way to edit the family? i can add a label at the bottom and it wold make my life easier
No. The built in lower prefix suffix only works in plan views.
