Splitting mass form face to 2 surfaces

Hi,

I am trying to understand if after I made a Form and I want to split one of the faces to two faces and pull one like in sketchup if its possible in revit?

you can see that I added a line that i want to split the face with him but the face is still one and not two.

in Sketchup when you draw a line its split automaticlly the face to two fxhu_0-1656013943891.png

TAB-Select the Line itself - not the Face.  Once the Line is selected, you'll be able to drag it out.

After add edge you can stretch it like this.

I think what you are missing is knowledge about TAB-Select.  There are two surfaces between that Edge Line.

...or maybe you are asking about how to divide that surface horizontally?  Lock Profile and Add Profile will get you there.

How did you made the third option?

its close to what I tryied to understande how to do

and btw I have tried Tab before I know how to use it😅

Adding profile or edges does not keep the other profile in place its drag with the moving profile

Here on sketchp its what I try to understand how to make model in similar way

first I make a cube

second i draw a line to split face

third I pulled the surface out and the left surface keep in his place

Actually, you may be referring to this fly-out (circled in read) that pops up when creating a form:

If so, there has always been an issue with it. It can sometimes be hard, if not impossible, to find on the screen.

After adding the edge, select the face where you want to pull the surface out and Create Form.

For the thousands of people that don't know how to use it, it's no laughing matter.  They are essentially handicapped.  You should see the joy on their faces when they learn about it.  It's heart-warming.

is there any more intuative way to split face on top/bottom of the form?

What "solution" are you trying to achieve "intuitively"?   Where are you headed after you "split face on top/bottom of the form"?

I want to make my working flow in the model > mass in place environment(not file of conceptual mass) more easy to play with conceptual design in the model file. 

Getting photo isnt helping me if I dont understand your explantion.

It will be more easy for me to understand what are you doing if you send a video or photos of the process.

Right now, when I draw a line on surface it isnt splitting faces.

If I want to split face I have to draw the shape that I want and sometimes when you still think conceptual you are not sure about the shape and want to play in the 'game'.

There is a butt-load of videos on the subject available on-line.  I've already posted a couple for you above.  More can easily be found through simple keyword searches.  As for me posting videos or photos of "THE PROCESS" as you say, I would need to know what specifically you're trying to accomplish.  Right now, it seems you are just messing around with no clear direction of where you want to go.  I'm a "form follows function" kind of guy.  

BTW: Modeling In-Place in the Project is fundamentally no different than modeling in a Family Template.
