Splines cannot be trimmed, joined or edited after being Offset*

Hi,

I'm working with Model Lines to draw a curved landscape site plan in Revit. It's become tremendously difficult after I realized that Splines (points placed that are connected into a curve) cannot be trimmed or joined.

Worst of all, you cannot edit spline control points on Splines that were produced as of result of an offset. I used the Offset command to create curved landscape stairs terracing down, however none of the Splines that were produced can be edited. Control points cannot be added or deleted.

Does anyone know a workaround or have an alternative to 2D drawing curves where I can trim, join, edit like in AutoCAD or Rhino?

Also, why can't Splines perform any of these functions?

Thank you!

Workaround? To what?  I don't understand what you are doing presently. Can you post some pictures?  Maybe, we can suggest a better approach rather than a workaround.

Let me try to explain this more clearly: I'm drawing 2D curved lines in Revit right now using the Spline function. Revit does not allow for Splines to be trimmed or joined, only straight lines. When they are offset, the produced Spline's cannot even be edited and their control points cannot be added/removed. Is there any way to draw a 2D curved line in Revit that can be joined/trimmed with other 2D curved lines?

Maybe Revit/BIM is not the right software for this.  It's a Sledgehammer when all you need is a decent Flyswatter. I think  AutoCAD is far superior to Revit for drawing in 2D
