Specialty Equipment element not showing up in the Visibility/Graphic Overrides list

Hello all,

I have a specialty equipment element that I would like to hide all iterations of in my view template by modifying it's visibility in the visibility graphics menu. The element, however, is not present in the list. Why would an element not be in this list? And how would I get it back?

Thanks!

VG is to hide categories and subcategories. If you need to hide certain
elements, use Views filters by rules or by selection.

by "element" are you referring to a whole family or a component in a family?

Well I was looking for a specific family and looking for the subcategory, but I figured it out. The only way I found to see what subcategory it was under was to edit the family and check out the subcategory property of the geometry. Is there a way to see what subcategory a family is in without editing it? This family was from a third party and it is under some random subcategory.

Ya, that is kind of where i was going with the question, LOL.

I'm not sure of a way to see the subcategory of an element without opening the family. someone else may know and chime in though...
