Some foundation columns not displaying in plan view

Hello, everyone!

I have just started working in Revit, and I am experiencing some problems with the display settings. So far, I have drawn two concrete column footings using a structural slab and a structural column as elements. As you can see from the plan views in the attachment, level 1 of the plan displays both the column and the slab at the top (gridline B) but only the slab at the bottom (gridline D). Furthermore, I get span direction symbols for the bottom slab only. When I tried placing a column on top of the slab with arrows, I got a warning (see the attached png).

Could someone help me out with organizing the view settings, so that I could see all layers of my levels properly?

It seems level 1 is the top of footing. You might want try move the footing on line D down to align with footing on line B.

Or set the level 1 (cutting) view above top footing on line D but lower than the top of column elevation on line D.

Check the level you are setting, I recommend doing it at level 2 and adjust with offset at the bottom.

So, if I don't have a level that cuts through an element, is this element not visible at all then? Does it not seem overly complicated to make sure that every element has been assigned a level? Is there another way to deal with this issue?

It would probably help if you posted the view range settings too. Also, it looks like you have "Underlay" turned on which might make things more confusing.

I do have underlay turned on from level 1 to "unbounded" for each level. Should I turn it off or limit it to several levels? Btw. where do I find the view range settings? Is it the same thing as the underlay in the project properties?
