Snapping / Aligning to Hidden Objects

Is there a way to prevent snapping and aligning to subcategories that have visibility turned off without turning off visibility of the entire category?

I have a generic model subcategory.   If I turn off visibility of the subcategory the object is hidden as expected, but it is still detected when snapping and aligning.  If I turn off visibility of the entire generic model category, it is not detected when snapping and aligning (which is what I want, just at a subcategory level).

Thanks.

The snaps are reacting to the Ref. Planes. Set them to "Not a Reference".

I need the reference planes in views where I want to see the object.

I would think that Revit would hide the ability to sense reference planes of a family when the family visibility is off?

If the object is Element Hidden, Revit does not detect the ref planes.

I created a subcategory of ref plane in the family, reloaded the family, and turned off the ref plane subcategory and they are still detected.
