SLightly sloped roof with different edges

Hello,

Justed wanted to share something:

I was working on a roof with some slight slopes for the water drainage to 1 or 2 sides.

Normally you use the "modify sub elements" in oder to create height differences. But then every corner gets a line drawn from point to point. Very annoying.

There is a workaround:

-Draw a flat roof.

-Create a slope on the top with modify sub elements. Say one side is +50mm, the other is -50mm.

-Create in floorplan view a component-in-place void-extrusion and cuth the void of the roof before closing the component family.

Sketch the Floor perfectly square, slope it as required and then use an In-Place Void to cut the Floor to it's shape.

You can do it with just a single roof.  Same as @barthbradley suggested, except I would use Vertical Opening Cut tool instead of an in-place void.

Why so?

Why so what?  Why model it as one roof instead of 2 or why use Vertical Cut Opening instead of void?

vertical cut opening instead of void.

No in place model.  No cut geometry.  So, fewer steps with the same result.

Good points! Thanks for the tip!
