Sketch Graphics

Hi all,

Currently working on a very old building. For the existing sketchy lines look great graphically, however, not so much for the interventions. Is there any way to do sketchy lines for existing and just normal straight lines for new items.

Any advice on how to get a graphical differentiation between the two would be great.

Since sketchy lines are a view property, not a phase or element property, the old trick of superimposing two views on the same sheet for presentation purposes might do the trick. Use two intersecting grid lines or reference planes to keep the two views in register. Alas, you can't group views on a sheet to keep them in register, although you can pin them individually. A one-view solution would be to have existing elements half-toned, and new ones with a solid fill - easy with phase overrides.

Sketchy lines applies to an entire view, there is no way to only apply it to certain elements nor lines in a view.
As a workaround, you can overlay two views to essentially have this effect. First, create a new Phase Filter which only shows Existing elements (or use the filter "Previous Phase" and modify it to your liking), and then another which only shows New elements (or use the filter "Show New" and modify it to your liking).
Create two identical views using Duplicate View. Then apply the Existing-Only filter to one view and the New-Only filter to the other. Apply Sketchy Lines to the Existing-Only view. Place both views on a sheet in the exact same position, the New-Only view over the Existing-Only view (I suggest using a Guide Grid on the sheet, then aligning Grid lines/Levels placed in the views to the Guide Grid to align the views perfectly).
I'm not certain this will work since I haven't tried it myself but it's worth a shot.

I was typing the same thing. It's encouraging to know  I'm not the only one who thought of this method! :lächelndes_Gesicht_mit_lächelnden_Augen:
