Understanding and documenting a site’s existing conditions is a critical first step in the early stages of conceptual design. It’s essential to ensure that your design solution is not only sustainable but also contextually sensitive and relevant. Autodesk Forma steps in here as a pivotal tool, making the gathering of contextual site data during these early planning stages not just insightful, but impressively straightforward.

It's wonderful to observe how Forma effortlessly adds context to projects, making them easily accessible, especially in fast-paced phases like conceptual design.

Does someone have information as to how Forma establishes what level 1 is, and what any added levels are referencing? I started a blank model from no template, set to imperial, and loaded in a forma option. I see that my survey point goes way out in space and not on the same plane as the internal origin and project origin. I don't really like that, but sure.

When I turn on the internal origin and project basepoint and go to a left or right view, I see they are both still together at level 1 (I like that), but now there is a new level 2 created, below the default level 1. Then even lower, like several hunder feet lower, I see some lines that look to be associated with the project boundary inside of forma, but that is also at its own elevation, not at the survey point or any other level.

I am trying to understand where all these come in so I can build a workflow around any sort of consistency.
