Way too many line patterns for my taste.
Want to simplify down to basically the same 15 or so patterns I've used in autocad.
Recognizing that if I delete certain patterns in revit some current and future entities may not show up properly I'm trying to come up with a work around of sorts.
One of the bigger problems is there is no way to distinguish "my" line types from everyone elses so If I could just do that it would be helpful.
So, what I'm thinking is just rename the ootb revit line types in my template/ project I'm currently working with and go from there,
What I would really like to do is just import all my cad linetypes with their names and styles and delete all the ootb stuff but would need to reassign probably way too much and I'm really concerned this will create a huge headache for me later somehow.
Can anyone forsee any future issues with just renaming the ootb line patterns?
I'm wondering if everytime I bring a family in if it's going to bring in it's assigned line patterns anyway so maybe a waste of time.
Don't want to do anything crazy and create even more issues for me BUT I really want to get this all cleaned up AND have a way to recognize what MY linetypes are so I can keep everything else deleted down the road.
Ideas?
