Simple 2D silhouettes for entourage... kids | teens | adults

Hey all,

All the lonely (revit silhouetted) people... Where do they all come from?

All the lonely (revit silhouetted) people... Where do they all belong?

I've poured through previous posts on here trying to find a link to download for free/ purchase simple silhouettes of people for general entourage. But I found... Nada. Nothing. Zip.

Do you know where all the silhouetted peeps are? I need them for museum settings - so I am looking for kids pointing at things/ teens reading things/ parents holding kids' hands/ adults looking intently at walls etc...

FOR EXAMPLE:

Anyone made any they'd care to share? Anyone bought any that weren't ludicrously expensive?

Cheers! CM

Are you intending to use it for a perspective view? We mostly add them on photoshop during post processing.

For elevations - I would recommend creating the silhouettes as Detail Component families.

As Rina said , using Detail Items it is a good option.

  • You can use even CAD drawings incorporated into Detail Items family.
  • Another , more elaborate way , is to use an Entourage Family with nested Detail Items (different) , for Top , Front, Back, Left, Right views. You can use even a 3d object and control the visibility so to let it be seen only in 3d views.....so you'll have different images in one object ...I use this way especially for cars - blueprints for top, front, back, left, right and a 3d model for 3d view.
  • In 3d views , you can insert ,also, bitmaps...if you do it in sheet view....but you have to scale the bitmaps manually so to fit your purpose
  • if you use rendering , then Photoshop can be a good option

Thanks for your question, we downloaded some fI have attached here.

Sharing is caring. They are entourage families, just 2D shadow people.

They are not RPC for render.

Hope this helps

Thanks Sahay_R - any chance you could upload a Revit 2017 friendly one so that I can use that as a base to create the silhouettes?

: D

Thanks so much for sharing Laura! Alas, we are still using REVIT 2017 for this current project though... Any chance you have those shadow people saved in a lower version of REVIT?

CM  🙂

Hey @constantin.stroescu - Thanks for your detailed message!

I am pretty new to creating these kinds of families... Is there any chance you can share a Revit 2017 friendly model so that I can use it as a base to create my own silhouettes? The Entourage Family of the car you mention sounds like it could be an excellent way to model different views of people that I'll need...

Cheers,

CM 🙂

Hey @Anonymous - We are intending to use the silhouettes in Plan, Sections, Elevations and Perspectives. So we'd much prefer to have silhouette families in Revit itself.

Photoshop is fun, but it's just one more process that we'd rather have a scaled people in the model for.  🙂

the .rfa file (in Entourage) use 3 nested Detail Items for Top,Side and Front Views. For 3d View you can place either a 3d model , or a RPC file with the visibility option set to be shown only in 3d views ( I didn't found any 3d for this....)

Oh Shame.

Please make sure for future posts you specify that so we can respond appropriately.

I'll see if we have 2017 versions.

I have tracked down some 2014 families for you! These are good for elevations, sections and 3D views.

Thanks so much Laura! 😄

Yep - new to here, so will definitely specify versions next time...

What a rubbish idea. We waste enough time in Revit customizing entourage elements.  It is a very expensive program which lacks proper 2D representations of Entourage <in both elevation & plan> . . . the trees suck (yeah i have seen the videos of how to make your own!) But for christ's sake include some sweet ones so we don't have to muck about.

Post processing in Photoshop (which by the way has been replaced by Affinity so you can purchase instead of rent for only $50 so screw photoshop). We just want simple plan representation of decent 2D people / trees / shrubs etc., for gawds sake.

The 3D texture maps work just fine. . . but 2D is lamentable!

Mahalo ~ rant over 🙂

It isn't like we have interns to do this eh? Trying to eek out a modest living!

I know we're late to the party but hopeful others stumbling across this thread can make use of our input.

Check out ryvit-families.com for cheap, instantly downloadable, Revit Silhouette detail families all in Revit 2019.

Thanks,
