Show structure layers of floors

Floor slabs have multiple layers. How can I show the structural layers only without creating the different layers separately?

I'm trying to show the whole structure of the model but i don't want to show the finish layer of the slabs.

For walls, I could use create parts. But how should I deal with floors?

By the way, I don't want to use create parts for slabs if possible.

What about overriding the Detail Level for the Floor Category under VGOs. Set it to "Coarse".  No layers will be shown then.   Other than that, you know the other options. Parts or Modeling Layers as separate Floor Types.

...or maybe select all the Floors in the Project, Clipboard Copy Paste Aligned to same place, change the Floor Type (while they are all still selected) to a one that has only structural core layers.  Then control Visibility in View By Selection Set or Rule-Based Filter.

Betcha Parts is looking pretty good about right now, huh?

- create a new file and link the model in

- transfer project standards to bring in floor types

- edit floor types and remove finishes

- copy monitor floors and pair types correctly, the copied floors will not have finishes

- adjust elevation of copied floors accordingly

- save and close

- link this file back to your model

- for structural view, turn off your floors and show the linked floors

You can model the floor finish separately and use filters to hide them in view.

Understood how this works, but it's too complicated cuz the project will need many rounds of updates.

It would be great if in the future we can hide certain layer directly under the VGOs, either in the floor options or in the filters. It seems the best options for now are still parts or modelling separate layers.

If you decide on Parts, this Rule-Based Filter might be of use to you.

Parts work unless you modify sub elements. If showing structure is a regular requirement then I would model structure floor and finish floor separately.
