Show History is Greyed Out

April 2025
Revit 2024, using acc central models. I'm a supervisor. I have found only One thread regarding this.

I need to be able to use this feature On Revit. We have team of six. I'm having a strong suspicion of some drafter ethics. Especially when they are working from home and claiming working on Revit.

That aside, who ever are the Autodesk mentors here, we do not use local central, we use cloud central. Why is it greyed out? Please help understand, what do I need to do to make it function.

Thank you.

Those options are greyed out if the project is not work-shared. Don't know how this is done in ACC?

It would be helpful if you could share the link to the thread you found unhelpful, so we can avoid repeating suggestions that might not address your needs.

That said, what exactly are you expecting to see in the Model History beyond the number of times a user synced? If that is sufficient to either confirm or clear those suspicions, then the equivalent of "Show History" for cloud workshared models is the  "Version History"

From your Revit's Home screen:

  • Go to Autodesk Docs
  • Navigate to the relevant model
  • Click the 3 Dots menu and select Version History

PS: On ACC, there are several ways to track and monitor changes in your model—ranging from basic workflows and review processes to more advanced tools like Power BI. If you're not leveraging these, you're likely not using ACC to its full potential.
